System engineer
Role:
· Install and configure Windows Server operating systems and applications.
· Able to manage Active Directory services, including user accounts, group policies, and domain services.
· Monitor system performance and ensure availability and reliability.
· Implement security best practices and ensure systems are protected against vulnerabilities.
· Troubleshoot system and network issues and provide technical support to end-users.
· Perform routine audits of systems and software’s installed on the server’s.
· Create and maintain documentation relating to processes, Wikis and knowledge-based articles.
· Responsible for implementing changes according to global change management process including ensuring Global Qualification process is followed.
· Coordinate and execute schedule maintenance windows to ensure systems are maintained and updated regularly to align with Global process.
· Ensuring systems adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
· Responding to incidents and service requests promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions.
· Deploying and managing virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) to optimize server resources.
Who you are:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
· Minimum 4 years of experience in Windows Server administration and engineering.
· Good knowledge of server administration, Patch Management & OS specific Patch Management an advantage.
· Good understanding of server technologies such as Active Directory Services, WSUS, DNS and performance tools.
· Good experience in an operational support role using virtualization products such as VMware vSphere. Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment.
· Good interpersonal and communication skills. Good understanding of ITIL processes and tools.
